25 Years Of Stories: Red Blaze & The Unexpected!

by Ed Moore

As we eased our way into the year 2025, the celebrations from New Year’s continued into the Red Blaze office as we entered what would be our 25th year in business!

Across the years, the Red Blaze team have seen a lot, organised a lot, and very importantly, solved a lot. We often speak about what goes right during a Red Blaze event, so with that in mind, here are just some of the stories from our 25 years of events where sometimes the unexpected occurs…

Trouble in Vancouver

Our first tale of the unexpected comes from Vancouver, where a group was set to fly via floatplane to the Sonora wilderness resort. However, wildfires threatened to cancel the flight, leaving us with a dilemma: lose thousands of Canadian dollars or risk the group getting stuck in Vancouver.

In just two hours, 30 hours before travel, the Red Blaze team worked miracles. We chartered a Boeing 737 to Campbell River, cancelled the floatplane bookings, arranged transfers to a private terminal, and coordinated coaches to the dock. A fleet of water taxis then took the group on a scenic one-hour trip through the islands, with drinks and snacks on board.

After all that occurred, surprisingly, the attendees preferred the boat ride, enjoying the wildlife and enhancing their experience.

Red Blaze in Buenos Aires

Another tale of the unexpected saw the Red Blaze team face a flight cancellation far from home, leaving UK attendees returning from Uruguay stranded in Buenos Aires on a connecting flight back to the UK, after an incredible incentive trip.

In true Red Blaze fashion, we arranged a luxury 5-star stay at the Faena Hotel, secured a dinner venue for the evening, and organized transfers to shuttle attendees between the hotel and venue. We also coordinated a morning activity before their rescheduled flight, all within just 40 minutes.

Harleys in Cape Town

Our next story of the unpredictable comes from us providing the unexpected.

During a sales incentive to Cape Town, our team planned a surprise trip for lunch, where winners were greeted by 50 Harley Davidsons ready to go. After the excitement settled, the winners set off for a scenic ride to Chapmans Peak. All was perfect, except one winner missed the departure!

Reacting swiftly, the Red Blaze team worked their connections and arranged a Harley for the missed winner. As the coach pulled forward, a single Harley appeared, ready to take him to the airport. To top it off, we even arranged a bagpipe player to send him off, honouring his Scottish heritage.

Proposal Magic in Dubai

To finish our tales of the unexpected, here are two proposal stories that took place on separate incentive trips, in the stunning city of Dubai.

During the first trip, a gentleman asked if he could propose at the Burj Al Arab. Our team arranged a Rolls Royce to take them there, set up a welcome drink in the sky lounge, and revealed written into the sand on the beach below “Mary, will you marry me”.

Another proposal during a separate trip, took place in the Arabian Desert and saw our team go above and beyond. We arranged a private camel ride for the couple to a secluded area with candles, petals, chocolates, and champagne. After the proposal, the final night fireworks lit the sky, capping off a magical moment we’re proud to have helped create.

So, what next?

Upon reflection, running overseas trips and corporate events can at times, present unique moments that require quick thinking. Whether it’s chartering a Boeing 737 or creating the perfect proposal, with Red Blaze onsite, we’re here to make the unexpected, magical.

Here’s to 25 more years of incredible stories!
