Venue: The Retreat at Elcot
Location:Situated in the remote town of Elcot, just outside of Newbury, West Berkshire. A perfect location less than 1.5 hours outside of London and just minutes away from the M4 to connect with the North.
Objective
Unite the full company, with many individuals meeting others for the first time.
The Solution
A corporate retreat was held at the picturesque Retreat at Elcot Manor, a beautiful lifestyle hotel where one can truly connect with nature. This large manor house boasts 55 bedrooms and suites. Guests are encouraged to grab their wellies and jump on a bike (both provided by the hotel) to explore the amazing grounds. For those seeking relaxation, the Signet Spa and its heated outdoor pool were a welcoming retreat. The hotel, with its classic chic style, prides itself on being ‘your home away from home’.
The team had access to the facilities from 2pm, so they were invited to arrive at their leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities and work from any of the numerous communal areas. Once checked into their rooms, the group was invited to join a private cocktail masterclass in the orangery. Three fun-filled rounds saw the team compete to create the best, fastest and prettiest cocktails, providing a perfect icebreaker and introducing a competitive element to the weekend.
Later in the evening, the team enjoyed a champagne reception in the Atlas and Oyster Bar before reconvening in The Orangery for a private dinner. Two long tables of 20, great food, plenty of wine and lots of laughs marked the evening!
The following day consisted of a meeting to discuss company updates and plans, followed by a BBQ lunch in the courtyard. The event concluded with a fun-fuelled team-building activity on the lawns. Teams were tasked with creating their own Soap Box Car and then racing it on the circuit. The best build and fastest soapbox were rewarded with a Lifestyle Voucher for each winning team member.
