InterWorks
Merging business with Croatian culture and leisure
Client: InterWorks
Venue: Hotel Astarea
Location: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Objective
A yearly event for people within the company to network and reconnect.
The Solution
This year, Red Blaze had the pleasure of proposing Dubrovnik, fondly known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, as the destination for InterWorks’ annual company offsite.
Dubrovnik is an exceptional location that effortlessly blends business with leisure. Its strategic position on the edge of the Adriatic coast makes it an ideal meeting point for both European and International travellers. With a well-connected airport offering direct flights from major cities such as London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Istanbul, global business travel to Dubrovnik is a breeze. The city’s rich blend of history, culture, and natural beauty further adds to its allure as a must-visit destination.
Red Blaze was on hand to welcome the majority of the group at Gatwick airport, providing boarding passes, baggage information, and flight assistance. Delegates from various international locations were also catered for, with all transfers to and from the hotel arranged by Red Blaze in sync with each delegate’s flight schedule.
Upon arrival at the hotel, delegates were treated to a mouth-watering lunch with views overlooking the sea, marking the beginning of a four-day retreat filled with networking opportunities and cultural experiences. The first day concluded with pre-dinner drinks in a private section of the hotel bar, followed by a sumptuous all-you-can-eat dinner at the buffet restaurant.
Day two was dedicated to the Summit meeting, where global strategies for the future of the business were discussed and successes celebrated. To keep energy levels high, a delicious breakfast and a private lunch were provided at the hotel. The day ended with a group dinner at Restaurant Dubrovnik in the Old Town, renowned for its high-quality food with a modern Dalmatian twist.
Day three began with a walking tour of the Old Town, exploring a wealth of churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains dating back to the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Dubrovnik’s recent claim to fame as the primary filming location for “King’s Landing” in the Game of Thrones series was also explored, with the group visiting the iconic Kings Landing location. Lunch was hosted at Konoba Rudjer, showcasing authentic Croatian cuisine and traditional flavours.
The afternoon was left free for exploration and relaxation, followed by dinner at the Farmhouse in Konavle. This gave the group a chance to immerse themselves in Croatian culture amidst the countryside. The Farmhouse, nestled in the verdant Konavle Valley, is renowned for its warm hospitality, home-cooked meals featuring fresh, organic ingredients, and tranquil atmosphere. The evening was enhanced by a local band playing traditional music and guests were welcomed with homemade schnapps shots. The night ended on a high note, with guests enjoying a convivial atmosphere over sharing platters, homemade wine, and a delectable from-scratch apple pie.
