Prime 25th Anniversary Celebrations

During our 25th Anniversary Celebration trip to the Lake District, there are a number of activities on offer during the second day.

Details of the potential activities are as follows:

Orienteering / Lakeland Walk

A Scenic Saunter / Lower and / or Higher Fell Walk
The English Lake District is famous the world over for its beautiful combination of lakes and hills, the start of this event will have you immersed in the beautiful countryside and scenery, taking in the breath-taking views. It is an ideal way of seeing and exploring the
best of the Lake District whilst taking part in an enjoyable and popular outdoor pursuit.
The walk will be guided by our expert instructors who will assist you along the way, pointing out areas of interest, nature, flora and fauna, scenic views and teaching you a few things about the Lake District areas.
The routes taken will be dependent on participants and weather. However we will aim to do a circular lower level walk incorporating Brant Fell and Scholl Knott. The walks will vary in distance but approx. 4-6 miles in total for each walk.

Open Canoeing
This will afford you a gentle introduction to water sports. Using 2 person Canadian Open Canoes and after some initial instruction on paddle strokes and water safety you will embark on your scenic paddle around Windermere and along the banks of the lake.
For extra stability and an added experience two canoes can be rafted together. With the wind in your sails, head off on your Lakeland journey.
We will launch the canoes from hotel jetty area or nearby public jetty

Gorge Scrambling
Locally called Ghyll Scrambling, individuals are kitted out with wetsuit, buoyancy aids and helmets. Dive and swim in deep pools, fight against the current and aquaseil waterfalls.
Experience the adventure and explore stream beds in the magnificent environments. On the way there may be shallow pool to wade in and cascades to scramble up. If you
don’t mind getting wet, this is an exhilarating and memorable team activity in rain or sunshine!
This will be done at Rydal Beck or Coniston – again, this will be subject to water levels and may be subject to change approx. 30 minutes drive from the hotel.

Yoga
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. Let your inhibitions transform into laughter and
melt away with the breath together as you stretch and flex your bodies, whatever your fitness level.
We can offer an energising vinyasa flow class (for all levels) and restorative yin class; more seated, stretch type moves. Done on the hotel grounds.

Climbing / Abseiling
This is your chance to see the Lakeland fells up close and personal and get your adrenaline flowing as you prove your worth on the rock face. A choice of routes at two nearby venues, spectacular views and an established site all come together to make this a
wonderful experience.
At the abseiling site you will be provided with all the necessary safety equipment, our instructors will then teach and supervise you throughout the session.
This session will run from the Langdale area approx. 30 minutes drive away.

Bush Craft
The perfect activity to begin your immersion into wilderness bush craft. Skills and topics covered can include an introduction to wild food, fire lighting, whittling, wood collection and preparation, ropes, string and knot tying and basic shelter building.
Participants will have the challenge of setting up camp and coming together to build an open fire to cook ‘wild delicacies’ such as nettle crisps, wild garlic flat breads and more; cooked over the (hopefully!) roaring fire.
Throughout the session there will be professional tuition and plenty of hands on experience in combination with clearly explained theory offing a fun, exciting and  memorable event. This will either be done onsite or in the forest area location.

Paddle Boarding
Journey around the islands on the stunning Windermere on a Stand Up Paddleboard. Modern design technology makes this a safe and easy craft to use. Great for novices who just want to get out on the water and have some fun with no experience required!
All safety equipment is supplied along with a safety briefing and technique workshop.
Paddleboarding on Windermere from the hotel or public jetty.

Forest / Nature Bathing
Our Nature Bathing Taster Sessions are an excellent way to introduce both the theory and the practice of mindfulness and the benefits of the outdoors to your team. These taster sessions can help you discover Mindfulness benefits in the workplace, and give you a few take-home tips for applying mindfulness to your daily life.
Mindfulness helps protect us against emotional exhaustion at work. Anxiety, stress, depression, tiredness and irritability all decrease with regular meditation and mindfulness. Those who practise mindfulness find they are happier and more contented; allowing better productivity both professionally and personally.

Use of Hotel Spa or Prefer to chill out or relax

If activities aren’t your thing that’s fine with us as we know you’ll be able to enjoy the fabulous facilities at the hotel or take a trip into one of the nearby towns of Windermere or Ambleside to explore for yourself.

The hotel also hosts two excellent and sophisticated restaurants, Blue Smoke and the The Windermere Restaurant for you to enjoy a bite to eat.
