Objective

To recognise exceptional achievements in Sky Retail with an inspiring awards evening

The Solution

Located in Manchester, The Imperial War Museum North is a unique and captivating event space with distinctive architecture overlooking the Salford Quays. The Museum offers a range of versatile areas that can be tailored to different types of gatherings. The main exhibition space, known as the Main Exhibition Suite, is a vast area that can accommodate large-scale events such as conferences, seminars, and award ceremonies. With its high ceilings, dramatic lighting, and flexible layout, this space provides a grand atmosphere for any occasion. There are also features several smaller rooms and meeting spaces, which are suitable for smaller gatherings, meetings, workshops, or breakout sessions. These rooms are equipped with modern AV technology, making them ideal for presentations, discussions, or training sessions. Additionally, the museum’s outdoor spaces, such as the Air Shard and the Quay West, offer unique opportunities for open-air events, exhibitions, or performances. These areas can be transformed to suit specific event requirements and provide a memorable experience for attendees.

The evening began with a red-carpet reception, where attendees had the opportunity to mingle and engage in lively conversations whilst enjoying a cocktail prepared with flair as the sun set over Salford Quays. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and anticipation as Tim Charles circulated the crowd performing some incredible close-hand magic; from mind-boggling card tricks to mind-reading feats, leaving everyone in awe and wonder. Their quick wit, charisma, and mastery of sleight of hand created a real buzz.

The Imperial War Museum North’s vast Main Exhibition space was transformed into a glamorous gala dinner setting, adorned with elegant décor and incredible projections whilst being surrounded by some awe-inspiring history. Our guests dined on a delicious two-course meal, washed down with copious beverages before settling in for the Award Ceremony.

The award ceremony itself was of course the purpose of the evening. Celebration filled the air as each award winner or team was called upon the stage, their accomplishments met with rapturous applause.

Fat Cat Brass then burst into the main space with their energetic fusion of brass, funk, jazz, and contemporary music to signify the end of the awards and time for the party! The band delivered an electric experience and for everyone up and dancing. Keeping the party going was DJ Chris Stark, known for his co-hosting with Scott Mills on Radio 1 and now Roman Kemp on Capital, as well as the award winning That Peter Crouch podcast. Taking requests from the eager attendees, Chris kept the dance floor full until midnight. The final hour was taken over by the incredible Neil Cookson from Multiplex Decks who worked his magic until the very end with some amazing mixes and party classics.

The event closed at 1am, with everyone provided with transport back to their respective hotels for the night. A truly unforgettable Tuesday night!
